About Safe Transmission
Located at 505 E Schunior St, Edinburg, TX 78541, Safe Transmission operates as a transmission shop serving Edinburg in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Safe Transmission at (956) 888-7026; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Its Google rating stands at 3.1 out of 5 from 30 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Edinburg is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Edinburg peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

When I gave up hope on my 96 f150 they got her up and running again. I had to leave to work and they even stored her for me. They were fast, cost effective and customer service was 10/10

I had a burnt out clutch on my manual transmission Nissan Altima. When I called the lady told me to bring the new part and they will install it for $360. After bringing them the part my car was fixed in a couple days. Good job at a good price.

This guy had me running around town getting parts "I needed" for my transmission, guaranteed me multiple times that it was just one thing. In the end he told me I had to rebuild the transmission. Took it to other shop & found it was the electronic part & only that. Wasted a whole day with this shop, when the other shop took 2 hours. I got stuck with parts I didn't need because some were non refundable. Then they got the balls to want to charge for "work" they did. They're other shops... Choice wisely!

Horrible experience. The son (who runs this shop) doesn't know much of what he's doing and the dad is rather pompous. I was quoted 800 and told it be out in a week, but cost me 1700 and took him a month and a half, even after constantly calling both parties. It would have been more had I not gotten some of the parts myself. He tried to charge me 200 for a part that I got for 80 at the same place he goes. The dealer even told me these businesses do a very slow job. On one occasion, a man there was stood up for 2 hrs and said he would call the POLICE since his car had been there so long. I myself was a hair away from calling ACTION 4 NEWS on them. Overall, save yourself the trouble. Go with a real certified mechanic.
